I can't believe it Dyson can now get in his crib out of his crib and even on to the dresser.

I found him like this when he was supposed to be taking a nap.
The thing he likes to do now is get on to the dresser and jump into his crib.

He thinks it is so fun! Now I don't know how I am ever going to get him to take a nap.

We went with my family to all of the American Fork Steel Days Events and it was soo much fun! Derrek is working out of town so he didn't get to come.

Liberty Park is such a fun place for kids. We went with Cami & Cali, and Syd &Hayden. It was so much fun. We played on the play ground, splash pad, ate lunch, played in the swimming area and every where in between.

I took Dyson to the Children's museum with his friend Cali. They had so much fun! It really is the coolest place.

After our nice get away we took Dyson to our pool, for the first time this year.

For our Anniversary we stayed up in Park City. My Dad got us a place up there that was supper nice. We even had our own hot tub on our balcony. It was right at the bottom of Deer Valley Ski Resort. This was the first time I had left Dyson Over night. It was so relaxing not having to worry about him.

We had so much fun we went to the outlet stores, to a movie, to dinner, walked around old main street, played pool, sat in the hot tub , stayed up late and slept in.

Fun Night Out/ Dyson 19 months

We had a really fun exciting night. First we went to the BEE's game to see a friend sing the national anthem.

Then we went and got Pizza and went bowling!!!

Dyson absolutely LOVED bowling. This was his first time and he couldn't get enough. He is soo strong and was carrying those big heavy balls around.

Dyson had lots of fun but he almost gave me a heart attack when he started chasing the ball down the lane.

Today is 8 Years For US!!!!!!
We dated for three years and next month will be our five year anniversary.
I just wanted Derrek to know how thankful I am for him. He is a wonderful Husband and Dad. He works so hard for our family and our future its amazing.

Some of the things that make Derrek Special
- He is a sports nut, he knows anything and everything about sports.
- He is very competitive and always wins.
- He loves Mt.Dew and Tacos
- He is a BIG KID who will never grow up and Dyson absolutely loves playing with him.
- He will do anything to make me happy.
- He has a sensitive side which not many people know.
- He is a bit messy but tries VERY hard to clean things up. Just for me.
- He would fit right in with Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber.
- He loves to sing (girl songs especially) and is going to try out for American Idol.
- He is a hard worker.
I could go on forever..................
Most of all he is always his self. He is so fun and there is never a dull moment. I don't know what I would do without him.

The Easter Bunny didn't forget Dyson.

He got a BIKE!! He is actually doing pretty well but still working on doing it all by his self.

We went to Grandma's for Breakfast and he had another Easter basket waiting for him.

Dyson got to do another Easter egg hunt, and uncle Chandler hid the eggs in some pretty tricky places.

Then we went to Grandpa Seipert's. WOW what a surprise, Dyson is so lucky, another basket!

Easter Egg Hunt

So we decided to take Dyson to largest Easter egg hunt in Utah, at the Bee's stadium, since we just live down the street. Let me tell you bigger is not always better. And yes there were 20,000 eggs but there were probably 20,000 people as well. We had to be there at 7:30 which is way too early to begin with.
We waited forever. It was supposed to start at 8:00 but it was more like 8:20. Dyson was dieing because he wanted to start right when we got in. By the time, it was time to start, he was soo MAd he just wanted to go down the slide and forget about the eggs.

He did get a few eggs.

Finally the slide something he was happy about. Next year i think we are going to find the smallest Easter egg hunt in Utah.

Dyson is such a good helper! He did everything for making these eggs. He filled the pan with water, put the eggs in, added salt and waited till they cooked. He also did all the dying and decorating his self.

Dyson Is A Year And A Half

Our sweet boy isn't a baby anymore! We took Dyson to his 18 month appointment and he is still very tall and skinny. He is 34 1/2 inches and in the 94% and he weighs 23 lbs 14 oz and is in the 22%. He got his shot and all he said is "ouch" and didn't even cry. He was just worried about the sucker the nurse had for him.

A few fun facts about Dyson.

You will never catch Dyson without his green blankie near by.
Dyson's favorite foods are pickles, hotdogs, pizza, and hamburger helper.
He loves to color and colors on anything and everything.
He loves music and is becoming a break dancer all on his own.
He has 2 chores, emptying the silverware from the dishwasher and putting the pop in the fridge.
He is very independent and wants to do everything himself. He refuses to have help with getting food on his fork or spoon. If you try to help him he will freak out, even if he is starving, and not eat.
He talks non stop and his favorite sayings are "Stuck" "Whats that".
When he is ready to get out, he gets his shoes and coat and brings them to me. I help him put them on and then he gets my shoes and coat. He is very smart he always finds my matching shoes and even tries to put them on my feet.
He loves baths and if you tell him it is time for a bath he runs as fast as he can to his room and gets all his bath stuff and takes it to the bathroom. You can never say the bath word accidentally or your in for some real trouble.
He climbs like a monkey on everything.
Dyson Thinks he is a chef and gets all the pots, spoon and containers out. He puts things in them, and pours imaginary stuff in to the pots, stirs them and puts the lid on. He even pretends to eat it.

I'm Finally Finished

I though I would be the happiest person alive to be finished student teaching, but its a little bit bitter sweet. I will miss my crazy third graders! I have become a much stronger person and better teacher because of this experience and I am truly thankful.

Here are the five surviving student teachers of Washington Elementary.
I can not believe its already over. There were a few times I wanted to quit and I really didn't think I would make it through, but I persevered. On Friday when I said my goodbye to my class I was very sad and of course I was crying. These kids are amazing and I love each one of them. They taught me a lot in so many different ways. They each wrote me a letter saying thank you and how much they will miss me. That was such a great gift from them.

Our Sweet Boy is growing up! He is a non stop talker. Half the time you can't understand what he is saying, but it's so cute. He is even talking in sentances and it is so fun to understand whats going on in that mind of his.
Dyson loves to get Daddy's hat and wear it.

Derrek and I went on our valentines date Friday night and my Dad watched Dyson it was so much fun.

Derrek helped Dyson with a valentine SURPRISE for me!!

Dyson always sleeps with his arms up it is soo cute.

On Saturday we took Dyson out for his Valentines Day activity!! We took him to the Clark Planetarium. We watched 3D Under The SEA. Dyson really liked the movie at first but could not sit for that long. But he loved the atmosphere and being there.

Student Teaching

These kids are great! I have so much fun with them. But let me tell you it is HARD WORK!!! I have many students that have a hard family life and you can tell the second you walk into the classroom. There are many days where I really want to strangle them. In the end it is all worth it when they actually start to make progress. I only have 8 weeks left I can't believe it. It truly is going by fast.

I know this pic is bad but it is the only one I have. It is from the beginning of the year so we have about four students not in this picture and about four that have moved.

Santa Probably ran out of presents when he came to our house because he left them all here.
Dyson was so excited because he got LIVE interactive Elmo ( he tells stories, jokes and everything you can imagine), a computer/ Nintendo game and lots more.

First we went to my Moms for breakfast. We had our traditional breakfast, banana crapes. Yum!

We then went to Grandpa Richards for lunch.

Dyson just wanted to play with the crab and not eat it.

Then we went to Grandpa Seipert's for dinner. Every time we go over there Dyson gets pickles his favorite thing, so he loves it!

Dyson got a singing car which is now his new favorite thing!

So our tree is GIGANTIC!! But I love it! It really did not look that big when we were picking it out. Derrek really wanted to kill me when he had to carry it up three flights of stairs. That's OK because once he saw it all lit up his Christmas spirit came back.

Fall break has been so much fun!! We went to story time at the library, the park, swimming, Utah football game and just hung out. Dyson even got to go to the Halloween store to pick out his costume. That may have been his favorite with all the talking monsters.

We went to Thanksgivng Point for Avery's 2nd Birthday.
Dyson got to ride a pony for the first time. He wasn't even scared he decided he didn't even need to hold on.

DYSON IS ONE!!!!

Dyson almost 2 days old in the hospital. I can't believe our little baby is now 1 and in the terrible 1's not 2's. It has gone by so fast, its crazy.

Dyson went to his one year check up and he is still very tall and skinny.

He is 32 inches tall and 92%. He is 21lbs 1 oz and the 23%.

Dyson is such a lucky boy he got to celebrate his birthday twice!

He even got to destroy 2 cakes.

Student Teaching

I ended up not being able to move with my original site teacher. My professor wanted me to stay at Washington Elementary where I was originally assigned so I could work with the other student teachers.
So I am now with Ms. Brown in third grade. The student's are great and so cute. I already love them. Ms brown my site teacher there has a very different teaching style than I do, so it is going to be interesting to see how this goes. She is very nice and I think it is going to be a great experience.
My classroom is very diverse we have about 10 Caucasian, 2 black , 1 Polynesian, 1 Armenian, and 10 Hispanic. We have 5 families in our class where the parents do not speak english. At this school about 80% receive free lunch and breakfast. So they are all from low income families. I am very excited to make a difference in their lives through out the year.

Wow have I had a week of craziness!!! So my site teacher that I will be doing my student teaching with just got a new job at another school ( Beacon Heights elementry), but still first grade. So I have been helping her move :( What a chore. So I will most likely be moving with her we just need to get a hold of my professor and ok it. This school is great and has a lot of parental involvment. So we will see what happens, the students come to school on tuesday!!

So Derrek left to Boise today to play FOOTBALL for the Boise burn. They are an arena 2 football league. Derrek is going up there to get some experience and film playing arena ball. So as of now he is planning on trying to get a spot on the Blaze or one of the other AFL teams for next year but that won't be starting until January or February.

They have a game this Saturday and Derrek is going to be starting. You can watch the game online at http://www.af2.com/ After you get there then you will click on watch games live and free. Then download the program. You will then go to Channels/ National Conference/ Boise Burn. They will be playing the Spokane Shock. I think the game is going to be at 6:00 Utah time.

If the Burn win they will be in the playoffs if they loose then another team has to loose for them to be able to go to the playoffs. So Derrek is going to be there until they are done.

So we played the game "How Well Do You Know Clayton"
Every answer she go wrong she had to put a piece of bubblicious gum in her mouth!

She ended up with 13/ 20. So she had 7 pieces of gum in her mouth.
Dyson is really starting to get scared of people. So Dad had to come pick him up.
We had a contest of which group could make the best wedding dress out of toilet paper. This is the winning team!!

We went to ride the paddle boats at the park it was so much fun and it was Dyson's first boat ride! Dyson loves the Ducks.

We are so excited for these Swim Lessons. Dyson has his lessons for 4 weeks, every Tuesday and Thusrday for 40 minutes. Dyson Loves to swim and as soon as we got to the pool he was so excited to get into the water.

We have season passes to the Bees Baseball games and its perfect since we live down the street. Its so much fun for Dyson because we have grass seats and he can just play.

We had so much fun on the 4th of July. We went to the sugar house arts festival, which was very interesting and hot! Then we had a BBQ and lit fireworks.

DYSON'S 9 MONTH OLD BIRTHDAY

OUR BIG GUY

Today Dyson is 9 months old, can you believe it. So we took him in for his check up and he is still taller than all the other boys his age. He is in the 95% (which is the highest it goes) and he is 31 inches tall. But he is also very skinny he is 19 1/2 pounds which is only in the 30%. The doctor said everything looks good and that he is a very smart boy.

Dyson Loves to go swimming we try and go at least once a week. Dyson has so much fun crawling around in the water and meeting new friends. He goes and goes until he gets in to deep or dunks his face.

He will sit and splash for a few minutes when we get there but after that he is always moving.

So it totally sucks we can't have BBQs at our apartment anymore because the apartments insurance won't allow it. So we decided to go to the park and do it instead. I think it ended up being a lot more fun then doing it at home any way.

8 Months/ CRAZY DYSON

Ok so over the past few weeks Dyson has started getting into everything. First of all he is crawling everywhere and following me around the house. It is soo cute but he doesn't want me out of his sight and he wants me to hold him all day. He has been trying to stand up on everything and he has pretty much mastered it but he still doesn't have enough balance. He walks around the coffee table and anywhere that he has something to hold on to. Its really scary because he forgets and lets go and falls hard. It is soo sad because he hits his head a lot. He also is having a hard time with naps now because he stands up in his crib and plays with the mobile and doesn't sleep.

Dyson also tore the door stopper off the wall, opened a permanent marker and wrote on his leg and everything else you can imagine.

Its crazy how fast they grow. Dyson is soo much fun I just can't take my eyes off him for a second. Its a lot of work but I love this age because he can play games, he understands things a lot more and he shows his big personality. Oh yeah and I almost forgot he also has been saying Dada, Momma, Hi, Ya.

Student Teaching Here I Come

So last week I met with the teacher I am going to be working with as I student teach. It was very exciting she is very nice and I think I can learn a lot from her. I am going to be working in a first grade classroom at Washington Elementary (which is close to the capital). This is a tough school with a lot of turn over from the homeless and single parent students. These students tend to move a lot because of their circumstances. I am very excited and up for the challenge. The hardest part is going to be leaving Dyson, I think it might kill me.

Last weekend we went to Hogle with three of my best friends and their boys. It was so much fun we don't really see each other that much anymore so we had a blast catching up.

Jacksonville Florida!!!

We got to go and see Derrek over Memorial weekend, it was the perfect time because they had a few days off. It was even more perfect because it happened to fall on our anniversary. We are so happy we got to be together for that. We have now been married four years. I can't believe how fast time flies.

We took night flights there and back so Dyson slept most of the way which was wonderful.

When we got there and Dyson saw Dad, he has never been so happy. He couldn't stop smiling. He was really missing Derrek so I am really glad we were able to go out there and see him.

Jacksonville Beach

They have beautiful beaches there and the best part is that the water is warm. Dyson absolutely loved the water he never wanted to get out.

Derrek, Dyson and I LOOVE the BEACH!!! If we end up in Jacksonville we are going to be there everyday.

Dyson could sit on the shore and play with the sand all day and never get tired.

Dyson is like a little crab crawling around in the sand.

Lately Dyson has been wanting to walk everywhere we go. Its really hard bending down and he walks so slow but soon he will be doing it on his own.

Dyson loves to go outside he is mesmerized by everything he sees. We have been taking him to the park acrossed the street when its warm and he swings on the swings. He LOVES it!! We can't wait tell it gets warmer so we can actually go outside more often.

PRO DAY

So Today was the Big Day!!! Derrek had his Pro Day (sort of like tryouts for the NFL) he did wonderful. Derrek did awsome in all of his tests and drills. For the 40 he got clocked between 4.35 and 4.39 AMAZING.
There were scouts from 16 of the NFL teams and alot of them really liked Derrek. The scout from the Indianapolis Colts loved Derrek and said "I could see you as our punt returner". We are very excited to see what is going to happen. The Draft is April 26th so we will have to wait until then. Derrek has an amazing agent David Canter who is out there selling Derrek as we speak. We are so proud of Derrek he is a wonderful athlete and an even more amazing husband and father.
